After a full week at the IAA exhibition in Hannover the team made their way to Circuit Bugatti in the famous French town of Le Mans for the penultimate race weekend. The schedule of the official race programme comprised more than 2 days, which meant the team had an early start on Saturday and a very late finish.
As usual, qualifying went really well with Antonio easily progressing into the final shoot out and lining up in P3 for race one. Following a clean race Antonio stepped onto the podium in P3 and collected some valuable championship points.
Race 2 also started very well, but unfortunately after a get together which caused a rear tyre puncture, Antonio was struggling to handle the truck and got passed down the order, finishing outside the points ranking.
On Saturday night we hosted some guests from BPW France who enjoyed a day of racing and the breathtaking evening show with show trucks, a night race and a fireworks display.
On Sunday Antonio had another good run in qualifying, securing 4th position on the grid for the third race of the weekend. He had a good start and briefly took P3, but while fighting for P2 he got pushed out wide and landed back in his original place in P4.
At the final race of the weekend, we saw some fantastic racing action with Antonio defending and fighting really hard. At the final lap, he made a brilliant move on Rodrigues, taking 5th place.
Antonio is currently fourth in the overall standings and even though there is only one more race to come, our hopes on P3 are not gone yet.
We are very pleased to announce that we have already secured the Championship Title in the Goodyear FIA ETRC Team Championship in which we compete together with our teammate Norbert Kiss!
Of course, our truck was serviced straight after the weekend. Now, the team is on its way to Madrid for the final race of the 2024 season taking place next weekend in Jarama just North of the Spanish capital.
