2nd race day @Nürburgring

The final race day for the weekend got off to a good start. Terry took to the track for the 15 minute warm up session to get a feel for the conditions and the setup of the truck before Qualifying.

The conditions were good, the truck was performing well and Terry managed to get 3 hot laps in during the session. He was improving on each lap and was on for a quick final lap. However, another driver made a mistake ahead which slowed him down at the end of the lap. In the end Terry managed to qualify in 15th position, nicely towards the top of the other Grammer Truck Cup competitiors.

Terry lined up on the grid and got off to a good start in the first race of the day. Holding his place well and attacking the drivers infront of him. Unfortunately, a couple of laps into the race, a small part inside the power steering pump failed meaning Terry could no longer steer the truck and he had to retire.

Due to the earlier retirement, Terry had to start the second race in 22nd position, near the back of the grid. This meant he had a lot of ground to make up. Terry fought valiantly and managed to work his way through the pack, climbing up the rankings. He managed to finish the race in 14th position overall, 4th in the Grammer Truck cup, narrowly missing out on a Podium. A fantastic effort after starting from the back of the field.

The team have already started to pack everything away into our race trailer ready to travel back to our base in the UK. Our next race is on home soil, competing at Donington in the British Truck Racing Championship on the 10th / 11th August.
